Prospects for collaboration between digital culture institutes in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands

March 28–30, 2017

Invited by the Visitors Programm of Het Nieuwe Instituut, a group of experts from Belgium and NRW had the possibility of getting a close look at several landmark institutions in the field of Digital Culture in Rotterdam. They met relevant experts from the Netherlands to discuss social and artistic challenges of the global digitalization – as also opportunities for creative collaborations. Furthermore, the STRP Biennale and its Professionals’ Conference was an important event on the schedule of this trip. STRP has grown into the largest event for creative technology in the Netherlands over the course of eight editions, with almost 30,000 visitors in 2015. STRP produces and presents new work and new concerts by legendary performance pioneers, young choreographers, visionary authors and upcoming hybrid artists. This mix of creativity and technology, which is also typical for the city of Eindhoven, provided a perfect context for a meeting dedicated to Digital Culture as part of the NRWKS project TRANSFER INTERNATIONAL.
