Feedback, relection and constantly changing perspectives are the key features of this Dutch-German collaboration. It investigates the use of musical and media resources in contemporary cultural production by ‘unscrewing’ prefabricated, standardised media instruments and connecting them in a new way.
The initiators, Matthias Muche and Sven Hahne, have worked for over a decade, through their label ‘Zeitkunst’ (Time Art), on linking electronic images, acoustic instruments and electronic music, as well as on critical understandings of media arts and digital culture in a global context.
For TIMEART_CURVES, Mathias Muche (computer/trumpet) and Sven Hahne (computer/programming/video) – alias ‘Männer mit Motoren’ (Men with Motors) – will collaborate with US musician Anne La Berge (flute/electronics) and Dutch programmer and electronics engineer Robert van Heumen (computer) – alias ‘Shackle’.
These two duos are devotedto exploring the boundaries between improvisation and controlled musical form. They will use this project to experiment with the use of continuous audio-visual changesin perspective.
